Abstract
Developing and Implementing Policies and Standards to Manage Data as an Enterprise Asset Policies and standards are a foundational pillar of a successful Enterprise Information Management program. Policies and standards can support the establishment of a program, and can help to mature an existing program. Policies and standards provide EIM programs with a way to build key partnerships, and to engage with both business and IT on topics that are important to the business and to executive sponsors. Polices and standards enrich a program, and have been central to usage, control, and valuation of enterprise data.

Biography
Janet Lichtenberger is an information management consultant and professional with broad experience across industries. She has held a variety of business and enterprise information management roles, including program and project manager, client and portfolio manager, data governance and stewardship specialist, and business expert for the development of analytic applications. Janet has more than 25 years of information technology experience in a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, health care, retail, financial, insurance, manufacturing, hospitality, and human resources. She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, and is the Director of the Enterprise Data Governance program at Walgreens.
