Abstract

Big Data, Data Science/Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), Industrial Internet, Smart Cities … are general terms that have found deep and a wide-range of interests, with several applications (particularly when combined with AI and ML) in business and government.

How to leverage and exploit “Big Data” are increasingly transformative in the context of gaining proactive/actionable intelligence for opportunities, markets, and much more. All of these skills are on the critical path for developing insight and foresight that influence directions and decisions.

The disruptive influence of Big Data, IoT and Advanced Analytics on our society, business or technology sector are nearly limitless; they include a wide range of opportunities and challenges ranging from new product/business development, to tactical-to-strategic local-to-global planning and execution for a wide range of enterprises … to policy-change impact analyses, and much more. All that also comes with a cautionary note.

This presentation will focus on some of the key areas, including “the why, the what and the how,” security, privacy, application domains, challenges, and opportunities, along with several in-depth case studies.
