This case study explains how we took the well-known Data Management Body of Knowledge Wheel and turned it into the framework for our Enterprise Information Management team. After one year of using it we stepped back and did a maturity assessment and made adjustments to the details of the DMBOK wheel, "making it our own".

Dawn M Michels Dawn Michels is the Supervisor & Principal Enterprise Information Architect for the National Marrow Donor Program on the Enterprise Architecture Team. Prior to joining NMDP her work spanned multiple facets of data management in many industries including, Retail, Manufacturing, Medical Devices and Financial industries. Dawn's former employers include Lifetouch, Regis, Target, Andersen (Windows and Doors), Guidant Corp (now Boston Scientific), Fair Isaac Inc, Securian and General Mills, where she led the first Corp Wide DW. Dawn has spoken at thirteen International Data Conferences on assorted topics of interest, and speaks for other DAMA chapters around the country as requested. She is the current Past President of the DAMA MN chapter. Data is her passion as well as her vocation.
Luminita Vollmer Enterprise Information Architect Thrivent Financial
Luminita is an Information Management professional with extended experience in Information and Data architecture. Currently Luminita is an Enterprise Information Architect at Thrivent Financial in Minneapolis MN. Her experience spans several industries - banking, insurance and finance, manufacturing, health care. She holds an undergraduate degree in MIS/Business/Finance from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, and an MBA from St. Thomas College in St. Paul Minnesota. Luminita is an active member of the local DAMA Minnesota chapter; she speaks several foreign languages and is an active volunteer for the Bloomington SisterCity organization in Bloomington, MN. Luminita is a CDMP and CBIP certified data architect and one of the first to take and pass the Integration and Interoperability ICCP test.
