Our guest speaker, Dawn Michels, will share her recent travel and speaking experiences in The Czech Republic and China where she represented DAMA-International, celebrating the addition of several new chapters to our international community of data management professionals.
As Dawn is in her final month of being the PC Chair, she wanted to share a little about her trip to Prague this fall, for which many of you saw her practice run on Ethics in AI, back in July - but also the beauty of the city and the energy of a newly forming chapter. Then she got to speak at two conferences in China in Oct. One in Shanghai at an international conference on Global Data Sharing and one in Shanghai, celebrating Bill Inmon's recent book translation, and many other exciting recognitions from a community of four more chapters in forming and recently affiliated in China, filled with energy and enthusiasm. She is always proud to celebrate the strength of our long-time chapter but also wants to share the excitement and re-ignitement caused by seeing chapters at the beginning of their journey.
Bio: Dawn Michels has recently joined Allianz Life as their Principle data modeler. She was hired to continue to develop models for a comprehensive analytics platform. Prior to Allianz she even dabbled in consulting for the first time in her career. Dawn has extensive experience in data architecture having previously served in several supervisory and managerial positions in Retail, Manufacturing, Medical Devices and Financial industries. She has spoken at over 25 International Data Conferences on assorted topics of interest, and speaks for DAMA chapters around the country as requested. Dawn is the current outgoing Presidents Council Chair representing 63 chapters worldwide on the DAMA International Board. She is a Past President of the DAMA MN chapter. She is also a Toastmasters Silver. Data is her passion as well as her vocation and she loves to talk with anyone who is also interested in Data.
