Abstract  

Big data and data science demonstrated that a one size fits all solution to data governance and quality is a myth.  However, we still need a trusted consistent view of data to achieve business goals and operate effectively as an organization.  Recognizing how data becomes trusted by your business stakeholders is critical. 

For data governance to succeed you need to:

  • Understand how experience, anecdotal evidence, and data guide decisions
  • Use the Trust Trinity to guide data governance policies and programs
  • Ensure context is maintained in the data to right size data governance at consumption
  • Establish the certification process that assures data provides the right truth
